Cubs Water Safety Code

1. What rules would you follow to make it safe:
   • River / pond
     
   • Swimming Pool
     
   • Seaside

2. In 3 groups, each group tackles one picture.
   • Draw and list your safety rules

3. Compare your rules and come up with list of short water safety Code. (No more than 10)

4. If time compare with Water Safety issued and previous results.

A sample : Water Code

• Swim where safe
  
• Never swim alone
  
• Keep within your depth and ability
  
• Wait for an 1 hour after a meal
  
• Do not dive in to unknown water
  
• Beware of Tides and currents
  
• Keep away from locks, boats and weirs
  
• Think of yourself first when you need to rescue someone in difficulty
  
• Do not polute the water or banks
  
• Leave wildlife alone
